Frequently Asked Questions
1
Do you accept my insurance?
Dental insurance is a great asset but it’s important to understand that every policy is different, and coverage can vary significantly from one plan to another. Because of these differences, it’s often difficult to generalize what your specific benefits will include. The best thing you can do is stay informed about the details of your own policy so you know exactly what to expect. Our team is always happy to help — if you need clarity or have questions about how your benefits will apply to our services, we’re here to assist you with your insurance questions and make the process easier.
2
Are you taking new patients?
Whether you’re looking for a fresh start with a new dental team, need a second opinion, or simply haven’t seen a dentist in a while, our office is ready to make your experience comfortable, personalized, and stress‑free. We offer flexible scheduling, a friendly team that truly listens, and a full range of services to keep your smile healthy. If you’re ready to join our dental family, we’d love to meet you!

I'm in pain, when can I get in?
Call us 989-732-8600. We will do our best to get you in ASAP. These appointments are for emergencies to have the issue diagnosed and stabilized. The needed treatment is usually not completed at this time and will be scheduled at the soonest available appointment.
4
Can I change my appointment?
Absolutely! We understand things change and you may reschedule your appointments as needed. We do ask you reschedule 48 hrs prior to your appointment so we may have time to get another patient scheduled. If reschedules are not completed in this time frame it will be logged as an improper reschedule. Three within a year will result in an automatic dismissal from the practice.
5
What is the difference between a regular cleaning and perio maintenance.
A regular dental cleaning (prophylaxis) is for people with healthy gums and focuses on preventing disease by cleaning above the gumline. A periodontal maintenance cleaning is for people who have had gum disease and focuses on controlling it by cleaning above and below the gumline, including periodontal pockets.
6
Why did I receive a referral instead of being treated in your office?
At our practice, your health and safety always come first. While we provide a wide range of dental services, there are times when a patient’s needs require the expertise, equipment, or advanced training of a dental specialist. In these cases, we provide a referral to ensure you receive the highest quality care possible.

They said I need SRP what is that and why do I need it?
Scaling and root planing — or SRP — is a deep‑cleaning treatment recommended when signs of gum disease are present. It removes hardened plaque and bacteria from below the gumline, smooths the roots so the gums can heal, and helps stop infection from progressing. You need SRP when the pockets around your teeth have become too deep for a regular cleaning to reach, which means bacteria are trapped and actively damaging the bone and tissue that support your teeth. Without SRP, gum disease continues to worsen, leading to ongoing inflammation, bad breath, gum recession, bone loss, loose teeth, and eventually tooth loss. Treating it early with SRP protects your smile and helps restore a healthier foundation for your gums and teeth
